A dreamy antique Georgian aquamarine pearl pendant/ brooch, modelled in 18ct gold and decorated with five foil-backed oval-cut aquamarines, nine natural pearls and intricate cannetille metalwork around the edges.

Each aquamarine weighs approx. 1.6ct (7.8ct total) and their clear-blue hue and glittering sparkle is reminiscent of a crystal-clear Caribbean Ocean, with the surrounding gold and pearls, evoking golden sand beaches, dotted with white shells.

Aquamarine and pearls are both considered treasures of the ocean and were a popular combination in the Victorian era, with their soft white and blue colouring complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean.

This is a gorgeous Georgian pendant, all in excellent condition with exceptional workmanship and stunning gemstones on show. It’s fitted with a pin at the back, so it can be worn as a brooch, and is accompanied by a new 9ct gold cable chain to display it as a pendant.
